Does anybody have a recommendation here? Mine is dying right now, it seems.
I'm a little irritated at this, as it was a gift and is no longer in production (Logitech G11).
It looks like the bestsellers on Amazon are the Logitech G15 ($80), the Microsoft Sidewinder ($40), and the Logitech G110 ($79)(replacement to the G11, with fewer macro keys and a smaller width).
I like the G11, the programmable keys are pretty awesome. I'd prefer something with a more standard width, as the G11 is about three inches wider than normal.
I have a G15 and I absolutely love it. not onlydoes it have the cool macro keys, it has the neat LCD display and USB inputs right on it for game cotnrollers.
I use a Mercs Stealth Keyboard. $90 on Amazon, it has backlit keys (I play in a dark room at night), mic/hardphone inputs, and 2 USB slots. I like the WASD keypad. I haven't tried any of the fancier stuff like macros, so I have no idea what it can do. (Turning off CapsLock is the extant of my customization.)
It is a bit wider than a normal keyboard, but still lap-comfortable. At the lowest level of illumination, there's a slight buzz in the headphone output, which sucks, but it goes away entirely if I turn the key brightness all the way up.

I'm not a big fan of the Stealth particularly at that price range. I think the Logitech G series is a better value for your money.
Also, I have a slight bias toward the Stealth because the gamepad is for your left hand, and I have problems with WASD or similar layouts requiring your left hand (I use the numpad instead).
Counterpoint: I use a Dell QuietKey for all my gaming. Buttons are easy on the fingers, doesn't make a whole lot of noise, and it's tough as hell. I get them secondhand from my old high school, and have only replaced one when I cleaned it and lost the right arrow key.
A USB QuietKey with media buttons would be my dream keyboard (I use a PS2 version currently)
