What is the most "heretical" house rule you've ever instituted?

... are you quite sure that this was a homebrewed D&D game? I don't really know how the Anti-Ship of Thesseus works here, but there's gotta be a point where if you change enough, it's not D&D anymore, right?

Pathfinder second edition..i have it !

    New calculation: Still 60% to hit, 1d8+5 damage First normal second PA: 0.45 * 9.5 + .15 * 19 & 0.3 * 14 + .05 * 28 = 12.725 Now PA first, normal second: 0.45 * 14 + .15 * 28 & 0.05 * 9.5 + 0.05 * 19 = 11.925 In this particular scenario you are still better off using PA second, although the...

True. What are the final rules on crits? When do they trigger and what are the effects?

Pathfinder second edition..i have it !

That is correct, I compared two different scenarios of PA. Because you said that you love the kind of interplay where you might use PA first, for a greater shot of landing the most damaging strike. Problem is, that is apparently likely to lose damage overall. I did misspeak in the final...

Pathfinder second edition..i have it !

Hmm... If you have a 60% chance to hit originally and normally do, say, 1d8+5 damage... 0.6 * 9.5 & 0.35 * 14 = 10.6 0.6 * 14 & 0.1 * 9.5 = 9.35 Quick napkin math says that in this particular example, the "best chance to hit with your stronger attack", you still lose damage on average. (So...

Pathfinder second edition..i have it !

So if I understand this correctly... If we take two scenarios and compare these action sequences; Normal Attack + Power Attack Power Attack + Normal Attack That would result in the same overall damage rolls (assuming hits), although the overall accuracy would be very different. Correct?

    5e Arcane Archer ?

Weirdly enough, I can find no mention of this in the official Sage Advice Compendium, nor is there any official errata for Xanathar's. So by the actual rules at the time of this writing, you'd have to use a magical arrow - but I don't recommend that anybody actually do that. 4e was, shall we...

Mage and Thief, then. And as usual split the points.

    The AD&D PBP Trivia Game!

I love how goofy some of the spell school/specialist pairs are. Remember when I asked a while back if we could also propose questions? This was one of them.

    Unity RPG .....

Same here. I also plan to run a normal campaign later this year, I'll chime back in once that's underway.

I don't recall them having any special attacks. Trick question? The answer is none?

How does D&D 5e handle crafting?

I don't think so. The 3e crafting rules were basically like the 5e ones, except you rolled a check and that determined how much progress you made. Instead of a flat 5 gp per day. It was actually far more (and unnecessarily) complicated than that, but that's what it boils down to. If you're...
