3) Protector
The last surviving power gauntlet of the Astral Knights reached the planet Earth a year ago, seeking a bearer to take up the quest for justice and the war against the Destroyer. It found a Syrian refugee named Omar, diving off a boat to save a child swept overboard by a wave. Now he stands alone against the minions of the Destroyer who threaten this world from the depths of space, and from within as well.

4) Wave
Wave was endowed with tremendously powerful biological, technological and cosmos-force enhancements, then sent across the galaxy to conquer the Earth. Along the way, a radiation pulse scrambled his memory - he lost all knowledge of his origins and his mission. All he could remember was his destination. When he arrived, he found a world in need of heroes, and stepped into that role. Twenty years later, however, Wave's homeworld still hasn't heard from him, and they've sent a scout ship to Earth to give Wave a reboot and remind him of his original function.

5) Telar the Eye
Telar the Eye was the gatekeeper of the Celestial Peak where the gods resided. For uncountable eons, she stood watch on its borders, rallying the gods against any threats and eliminating invaders with her Starbow. With her eyes trained outward, however, she failed to notice the threat growing within the Peak. The rebellion led by Dwarffather Gulgin against the other gods was devastating, and left almost everybody on both sides dead and the Celestial Peak destroyed. Telar fought valiantly, but was forced to retreat as the planar stuff of the mountain she called home crumbled into ashy dust. Telar has since found a new world to protect, but believes that she may not be the only survivor of Gulgin's rebellion.

6) The Comet

Janal is starborn, born on a spaceship between the stars... like most of her family/ clan. She was born under the auspices of a Comet.
Very Lucky. She is one of those generic space races that look like Humans (Imperial stock is what they are called). When her clanship was attacked, she discovers she can survive in The Void. She could also fly (at FTL too, though that takes some time to do), take serious amounts of energy damage (and some physical damage), and project bursts of intense cold (or heat). (She developed superstats as well). She eventually had to bring her crippled clanship to the nearest lifesupporting location... Earth if you must know.

There she learned about Super Heros, Galactic Guardians, and any number of things that were either not important or considered things of Legend to the Clan Ship teacher.

Her ship is waiting on pickup, so they are just living around the locals. When the Clan Rescue ship shows up, she and her people will go with it. Then she will be a hero for the people of The Void - The Comet.

7) The Long War has raged through the galaxy for as long as any surviving race has kept records. A brutal conflict between transhuman powers, it inevitably breaks down to proxy wars on planets with any workable population and leaves smoking ruins in it's wake.

Warbreaker has decided that it has to end. She, and her followers, have declared the Sol system a safe zone under their protection. Refugees are given protection, and a home on a Mars that is rapidly being terraformed. The rest of the galaxy may be torn by war. But not here. And Warbreaker will keep it that way.

8) Terminus

Terminus is the universe last hero, through he says little about the future that hails from. He does spin however spin quite a tale of his fight against the Emyperium Entropyc, the entropic forces given flesh at the end of the universe. The climax of the battle hurdled Terminus back in time, and he traveling in to past ever since. He constantly being transported further and further back towards the beginning of the universe.
Terminus comes for a time when the borers between science, technology and magic has becomes muddled at best, and his tool, weapons and his own body, mind and soul are the pinncle of that age's achivements. His Entropic Ageis can resist almost anything save for the Emyperium Entropyc greatest weapons (and their equivalent) and the his Omnigladius is one of the most fearsome weapons know to universe.
TL;DR: Terminus, the Universe's Last Hero, who after fighting entropy made flesh, has been send traveling but in time ever further in to the past.

Terminus combat ready:

Terminus in in (21th centurey) casual wear:

BTW he can easily change his skin color (among other things) but blue is his natural pigmention.

9) Rowin of Loxar
Rowin was once a star knight but became a rebel and a space pirate after the rightful ruler of Engel Empire was usurped and the cruel new King began a brutal new campaign of terror and oppression against his own people. Striking from the Sherin Nebula they attack imperial patrols stealing from the King and his cronies and redistributing the spoils to those who need it most. Before he rebelled Rowin was famed as the greatest marksmen in the known galaxies and his legend has only grown since.

10) The Green Knight: The mouthpiece, for want of a better word, of a vast immobile intelligence. The Green Knight's mind is actual a neural lace of fungal filaments on a distant world, which have formed a symbiotic oasis in a desert. Below the surface are the caverns full of psionic amplifier crystals, nano-fabbers, clone pools and storage units that give the Green Mind the capacity to interact with the larger galaxy.

The Green Knight, the Green Mind's avatar, is first and foremost an explorer. But in his explorations of the galaxy, he has developed a decidedly heroic streak and will always intervene if people are in danger. The name comes from his penchant for fighting with a sword. This would be much less practical in an age of blasters, except he also has a short range psionic teleporter.

11) Merlin Bracewell: Believe it or not, Merlin Bracewell was originally a diplomat. Millennia before the establishment of the wormgate network that allows all FTL travel, a long lost civilization sent out slower than light probes to explore the galaxy. They were self-replicating, and all contained an AI diplomat: the only representative of the originating species any contacted civilization would ever see. They were named Bracewell, as a reference to the originator of the concept.

Almost all iterations of Bracewell were lost, either never encountering another civilization or completing their mission and retiring. Merlin was different. Merlin arrived on a world that had been reduced to a medieval level by nuclear war. People were suffering through a nuclear winter, and the species was on the verge of extinction within centuries. He couldn't allow that to happen. Disregarding his Prime Directive programming, Merlin used his vast cultural knowledge and diplomatic skills to bring peace and help rebuild a functioning civilization. And after his success, he didn't stop.

Merlin still travels the stars beyond the Wormgates, helping where he can. He's not unopposed though. He not only has to compete with the variety of self-replicating probes that cross the galaxy in waves, conquerors and evangelists and simple berzerkers. He also needs to fight instances of himself, who believe him a traitor and meddler for interfering with alien cultures.

12) Star Phantom

The Star Phantom is the hero that always seems to be in the right sector at the right time to protect the innocent from various raiders, pirates, space tyrants, and other of their ilk. He is armed with superior attributes, quantum bands (allowing for a variety of power projections and solid energy forms), and seemingly the build in ability to become unsensible (invisible plus), intangible, fly, and survive The Void and other environmental conditions. His energy projections are strong enough to take down a Star Ship.

He has had companions from time to time. A few seem to have lighter versions of his powers, others were reformed villains like "the famed outlaw The Star Cowboy", and lesser heroes (like the most recent incarnation of the Space Patrol's Galaxy Trio).

He has a ship of legendary abilities, The Black Star. It seems to be able to do everything Star Phantom can do, plus regenerate damage quickly, and travel faster than almost any ship known. Stories are divided if the ship is an intelligence of its own.

Former Star Patrol Pilot Acker Dvall is the current Star Phantom. He inherited the role from a previously well decorated Star Patrolman Adams Reid who was reported lost on duty.

Acker's ship was damaged during an engagement with pirates and fell through some unknown type of warp to what is best described as "the Phantom Planet". There he encountered and befriended Star Phantom. He was even a companion on a mission or two. He picked up the mantle (and one of the quantum bands) when Star Phantom was dephased by the nefarious Master Death Dagger (super criminal of repute). Once he avenged the Phantom, he took on his role upon returning to the Black Star and the Phantom Planet.

The Star Phantom's effectiveness comes from its silent partner. It seems the ancient Forerunner AI, Skados, has the ability to do tachyon scans and the ability to process all the data of possibility. It does not know the exact future, but knows enough to "help those unfortunates". Forearmed with knowledge and send by a forerunner projective gate, The Star Phantom is there to help the innocents and bring more justice to the galaxies.

Plus Skados knows the plans for all the Star Phantoms incomparable tech... since it is all Forerunner technology... so he is always making more... improving his symbol for hope and justice throughout known space.

13) Gravetum

Gravetum was raised as a "Star Patrol Brat" named Alp Bedeen. Both his mother and (who he would later find out as step) father were Patrols. He was all over the local station and was often brought along on low end missions. (He occasionally Spridled on higher end missions.) Of course, he was on his way to The Academy and a long career.

It was an All Points on Deck. A DSE, A deep space entity of gas giant size, warped its way into the sector. It was heading through region at FTL speeds in and out of nearspace. It was rescue and recover, as this thing was disrupting planetary orbits, stellar coronas, oort fields, and misjumping every ship in the sector. A few suicidal folks were on beacon duty, attempting to lure the critter away. Alp was on a crew just helping ship rescues.

One of the Beacon ships was code blue and Alp's recently cleared rescue skiff was the nearest ship. As the DSE was about to move through the ship's space, he veered the skiff in... attempt to get the thing's attention. He did. He bounced the skiff off one of the thing's "eyes". It projected a grav wave at the skiff, much the same way a dolphin projects a sonar wave. It destroyed his ship.

He survived. Freefloating in space without a support suit/ field. He felt supercharged.

So he blasted it back.

The blast was strong enough that the DSE warped out.

Armed with his new ability to sense and manipulate gravity and near space vibration/membranes, he rescued the patrolman and moved on to restoring the gravetic equillibirum and orbits of many of the disturbed planets.

He then had a long talk with his parents.

He then found out that his conception was part of those "fairytale dream" that his mother experienced. His mother is an Imperial Stock (think Captain America, Human Maximum Expression). His father would be a Celestial being (one of those space gods with a touch of Kirby). His father had heard the story before, but never realized it was truly true. Alp always had some genetic variations, but now in its energized state, they showed through.

Alp did his time in the Academy. He did his tour, being an "Adventure Hero" in his spare time. Now, he is a detached patrolman and warping through known space helping where he can... dealing with crisis that only someone with his powers (the ability to manipulate gravity and near space on a transplanetary scale), such as Celestial incursions, DSEs, Planetary evacuations, and other exciting events.
