So this setting is a bunch of technically unified but very different places with extremely different ways of doing things, right? But they do work together as part of a greater whole. They probably have their own individual "police service" but they also all want a single, trans-sectional service, like the FBI when compared to the local sheriff?

This task force probably works out of the middle-most area of the setting, equally distant from each district, right? Like Scotland Yard, but central to the city? A sort of "Central Yard"?

They would be a expeditionary team, working for the Central Yard, like a generalised team, unlike the localised specialist police services. More of a setting wide network of people going on expeditions to sort out only the most dramatic and important cases. People from each of the individual Allied sectors of the setting.

So, your players will playing those Agents.

Agents from the Allied General Expeditionary Network Central Yard.

Or, because that is kind of a mouthful...

We're Agents from the A.G.E.N.C.Y.
