Re: Kickstarter Spotlight - Role-Playing Games and Accessories

If they wish to, YES!
Thank you so much! (And thanks to J. Peters for pointing out this post!)

We've got our post in the Ads/Promotions section, so some of you might have seen it already. But if not, we welcome comments, questions, and ideas!

We went through IndieGoGo as Kickstarter is only for American-based companies. We're a bunch of freelancers from all of the world, so we didn't qualify. Another thing that was different was their funding plan. With Kickstarter, if you don't make your goal, you don't get anything (from everything we saw, anyway). With IndieGoGo, if you dont' make your goal, the fee is higher, but you still keep what you raised. They encourage you to explain your plans for using the money if you don't make your goal, too. Here's our information:

Savage Mojo
Caladon Falls

A limited-edition, full-color, hard cover, 144-page, 750-book print-run of our fantasy war setting, Caladon Falls.

They came out of nowhere and started ripping the world apart, one city at a time. Using power on a scale never before seen, Warlocks, god-like leaders of the Wild army, are rampaging across Austeria with one goal: raise armies and annihilate the entire continent. Set in the fantasy realm of Relic, this book looks at warfare through the eyes of everyday people turned soldiers - soldiers whose side is losing the war.

Visit the campaign page to see fantastic Perks (read "a ton of freebies only happening through the fundraiser"), complete book details, comments, reviews, and more. There's also a recent Caladon Falls review right here on RPG.net. We've only got 18 days left.

Thanks!

Re: Kickstarter Spotlight - Role-Playing Games and Accessories

This one is ending in fifty-one hours, but they've reached their funding goal, so for folks who still want to get in on it:

DungeonMorph Dice (Dungeon Geomorphs)
Designer: Joe Wetzel

DungeonMorph Dice will remind many long-time gamers of the classic dungeon geomorph booklets of dungeon maps. The spirit of these have been carried on by a number of illustrators/cartographers who create new, inter-connectible 10x10 geomorph fragments for anyone to use.

(Note: now that the original goal and two stretch goals have been met, the project description has been updated to mention the two extra sets.)

DungeonMorph Dice are available as 3 different sets of 5 dice each with a different design on each side of each die. (90 designs in all.) These dungeon geomorph dice serve many purposes:

■Each side of each die is numbered 1-6, so you can use them as normal 6-sided dice.
■You can use them as a guide (or inspiration) when making a dungeon.
■You can roll them looking for pretty patterns while waiting for your turn.
■We'll include at least one free simple dungeon exploration game which uses the dice.
■They look cooler than regular dice. :)

Re: Kickstarter Spotlight - Role-Playing Games and Accessories

Eighteen hours to go, and they haven't met their goal!

The Rage Series
Publisher: Nerd Rage Games

The Rage Series of Games takes on a new approach to table-top role-playing games. The three Core Books (Volume 1 Space Rage; Volume 2 Medieval Rage; Volume 3 War Rage) are our sci-fi, fantasy and modern campaign settings for RPG market. Unlike other game systems out there ours are designed to be used both seperately as stand alone games but also interchangibly. Our rules allows for complete mechanical crossover between games. For the conspiracy theorist: if you want aliens in your modern setting then mix Space Rage and War Rage. If players want magical fireballs and thunderbolts in their sci-fi game then mix Medieval Rage and Space Rage. Mix all three together.

(Volume 1) Space Rage brings players access to three galaxies, centered on the Milky Way. Humans have left the cradle of home and reached the stars. Friends and foes await, but figuring out which is which is often harder than it seems. A great evil prepares to wage a final war against the rest of the races of the galaxies. The Daemon have risen and the age the Greys, Humans, Kudzu and Pentarans are at stake. Volume 1 contains 113 pages of material including over 100 spacecraft, star-fighters and dropships as well arms for ground forces. Designed for small group play or for a massing of armadas, Space Rage is at home with both. Character types include over a dozen opportunities for players (from merchants and soldiers to psi-bureau agents and pirates).

(Volume 2) Medieval Rage is basic fantasy setting contain much of what would expect to find in a medieval universe. Additionally, Medieval Rage contains a specific campaign setting that allows players access to additional materials. Volume 2 contains over 100 pages of material including over 150 spells, priest powers and psi-talents give the players a wealth of options as well as Character types common throughout the Rage Series. In addition to Sorcerers and Priests players may choose from a variety of others including Soldiers, Runecasters, Nobles and Pirates.

(Volume 3) War Rage is a near-future modern setting answering the questions of "what if" common in today's world. Players have the a similar variety of Character type options available in the other Rage Series Core games. Over 100 aircraft, tanks and naval vessels give players the ability for small group operations standard for any adventuring party of mercenaries and merchants up to full-scale naval and air combat battles between the forces of the world. Eveyrthing is at your finger tips. Volume 3 contains 94 pages of material and the ability to add your own history to the modern history of this world or another.

Please note: the is a FundIt.com project. FundIt is like Kickstarter, but its projects are located in Ireland.

Codex Imaginata Roleplaying Game
Designer: Ronan Burke

Codex Imaginata translates to "The Book of the Imagination", and is a multipurpose game system, covering everything from fantastical worlds of wizardry and warriors, to swashbuckling pirates, to modern day whodunnits, to futuristic adventures on the high frontier of space.

Of course there is more, the Codex Imaginata platform will be a springboard for new literary talents in the fantasy, horror, and sci-fi genres, a place where people can come and discuss the game and suggest new ideas, and will have numerous campaign worlds built into it. It will be a place where the imaginative creative arts can flourish and grow.

There will be numerous prebuilt campaign worlds for people to enjoy as well, including:

Fantasy - the decaying Empire of the Twin Rivers and the magic and mystery of a spectacular conflict between the old and new, with demon haunted forests to the west and canyon cities of the Young Kingdoms to the south. Ornate cultures, strange beasts, and a richly detailed history, perfect for adventure.

Steampunk - join the world of Sherlock Holmes in a Victorian milieu of brass and steam engines with a twist: the fountain of youth has been discovered! As the wealthy noble classes live far longer, the advance of science is slowed in favour of eccentric theories and the occult. Mad scientists twirling moustaches and dark continents abound, goggles down and cannons up!

Floodlands - explore the post modern world where global warming has caused widespread coastal flooding, corporations vie for control of the seas with governments, and your submarine is your home. Adventure beneath the waves!

Zombie Apocalypse - you've seen the movies, now live the experience!

Science Fiction - set many hundreds of years in the future, where giant trading ships move at near lightspeed between stars, and every solar system is it's own unique world. When travel times are but weeks for the crew and decades for everyone else, the future can be an eerie (but exciting) place!

Re: Kickstarter Spotlight - Role-Playing Games and Accessories

Hey again!

Please remember that we're trying to keep this thread for just roleplaying games, and for roleplaying accessories (such as dice, terrain, minatures, etc.). Anything else will be moved to Ads/Open Promo. Thanks!

Re: Kickstarter Spotlight - Role-Playing Games and Accessories

Some projects of interest from www.IndieAGoGo.com (like Kickstarter, but international):

Godlike: The Invasion of Jericho Bay
Designer: Dennis Detwiler

NOTE: This project has met its funding goal. What's more, because it met goal, Detwiler has released the PDF will be released to everyone forever, FOR FREE, via the Detwiler Design website. However, there's still 48 days left on to donate on this project, so fans of Detwiler and/or Godlike may wish to throw a little money his way, in gratitude for offering his project free.

Hi, I'm Dennis Detwiller, creator of Delta Green, GODLIKE, Wild Talents and more. I'm an indie publisher who hopes to create great works and get them out into the world without breaking the bank...

GODLIKE: The Invasion of Jericho Bay is a complete, ready to go 32 page introductory adventure to the GODLIKE universe. In terms of cost, it cost me about $1,000 bucks of time and effort to create it.

In the scenario, the players take the role of Talents pulled from the cauldron of battle in Okinawa and sent through a mysterious Bubble which has engulfed a portion of the island. On the other side of the Bubble they find that war is less easily fought when it's on their home soil.

-----

Blackwyrm Books And Games is a publisher of experimental fiction and quality roleplaying games. In conjunction with Hero Games' release of the Star Hero 6th Edition roleplaying game at GenCon 2011, we are attempting to simultaneously release seven science fiction settings that can be played using the Star Hero rules.

We're calling this entire undertaking Project WyrmStar.

Hero Games isn't planning on releasing any settings for Star Hero: only the core rule book and some equipment books. We are hoping to "fill the gap" that leaves by releasing unique and interesting setting books that can be used to play the game immediately, rather than forcing Game Masters to take the time to create their own setting.

Settings offered are Posthegemony: Terra Nomenklatura (described as Logan's Run meets Idiocracy), Fires of Heaven (described as Star Trek meets Traveler), and Terracide (Blade Runner meets Galactica). All of these projects have met their fundraising goal, but are still open to contributions for the next 46 days.

Still needing contributions is:

Lux Aeturnum
Deisgner: Ryan Wolfe

What We Need & What You Get

We need to raise about $1000.00 to get a print run of Lux Aeternum out of the door in time for GenCon 2011.

Lux Aeternum is a cinematic science fiction setting that strives to evoke the romanticized spirit of the 17th Century Age of Exploration - a time of sweeping changes, social upheaval, and limitless opportunity. Action, drama, and grand adventure are key elements to any grand tale to be told in this setting. The absence of faster-than-light travel limits the playing field to a handful of star systems and allows this finite area to be fleshed out with a level of detail and complexity not possible in a galaxy-spanning saga..

Re: Kickstarter Spotlight - Role-Playing Games and Accessories

Can I put my project in here as well? Its not an official Kickstarter but I am attempting to kickstart it.
Once you have an official Kickstarter page, let us know and we'll add your project to this thread.

EDIT: Ah, I see here that...

The game will be published via CreateSpace which is Amazon's Print On Demand service. I plan to sell it for around $10-$15 via print only.
So, no, since your project is not a crowdsourced fundraiser via Kickstarter, FundIt, or similar sites, your project will not be eligible for this thread.
