We want to make this game better hence we need to use the power of community so all feedbacks and reviews are welcome.
So here is the game:
Story Time Cards is a creative storytelling game that brings family, friends, and kids together to create a collective imaginative story. A simple idea triggers the imagination to create millions of different tales.
The basic idea of the game is to split the characters and places into 2 or 4 pieces so that they can be randomly combined to create a story.
The basic game dynamic is each round every player try to continue the previous story by using up to 4 cards in their hand. Don't create the whole story just create the piece of it so at the end of the game you can create a collective story with your friends or family.
1. Sit in a circle/rectangle/triangle
2. Shuffle the deck.
a. Remove white cards or set aside 2-3 of it as a Joker!
3. Deal the deck, 15 cards for each.
a. Get new cards for each round
4. Each player looks at their cards. (There is no problem with the others see your hands or not)
5. Create a piece of the story by using up to 4 cards.
a. You can tell your story by using only 1 card or you can use all 4 cards.
b. There is no limitation about the story, the important thing is the others love your story or not. For example, when you try to tell the whole story, others can be bored and think there is no room to improve this story so will not vote it.
c. You can combine anything. You can either use a single card, or you can combine two cards (e.g. head with body or head with head). You can also attach arms to other cards.
6. Each player tells their story starter. (Don't create the whole story, just create a piece of it.)
7. Everyone votes on the character or place they want the story to be about. (While voting you should consider; Humorousness, Sustainability or Creativity.)
8. The one with the most votes stays on the table. (If there are some equality, try to break thıs by revoting)
9. Get back the other cards and put it on the deck.
10. Go to step 2 until there is 5-7 story piece to tell.
11. The winner is the one who has the most stories on the table, but we like to play in non-competitive mode too.
Forged in Battle are doing their 3rd War and Empire kickstarter campaign, this time covering the Dark Ages with 15mm metal models. I have some of their older minis and they are very nice models. Most of their codes have a decent to large range of poses, somethign that is missing of a lot of older 15mm ranges.
Donning the Purple is live on Kickstarter with only 6 days left!
Donning the Purple is an asymmetrical king of the hill game with a bit of worker placement. Each player leads a powerful family in ancient Rome, trying to get the most victory points during 4 rounds. If your family member becomes the emperor and manages to hold the position he can earn lots of points. However he will also become the target of the other players as they will try to dethrone him and become the new emperor
I just had to share the Kickstarter for The Awful Orphanage board game. Its by Workhouse Games, and though this is their first Kickstarter, they have been super active in answering questions. They have even held 3 live feed Q&As, and 2 live feed play examples. It is fully funded and working through stretch goals. There is just shy of 2 weeks left in the campaign, so please consider helping us (the backers, I am not affiliated in any way) reach more SGs.
Just a really quick idea of what the game is. Its about Ms. Prendergast that runs an orphanage (in the 1800s) for the sole purpose of feeding Orphans' souls to the "Gaunt & Sinister Man" (a dark nefarious power she has made a pact with). The Orphans are desparetely trying to take her down and escape the orphanage in this game. Some of the SGs of the campaign include expansions, and there are many high quality miniatures to be had, both with the base game and through expansions and other SGs. There is competitive, co-op, and single play modes. Plus, they just announced a new mode where 1 player can take on the role of Ms. Prendergast and the Gaunt & Sinister Man (along with the orderlies trying to capture the Orphans and send them back to their sleeping room in the attic).
Workhouse Games has put an AMAZING story together for this game, and I cannot begin to do it justice. It is based upon the "Hollow Earth" of classic literarture, and there are 2 more games off in the future of this line, culminating in a HUGE skirmish game. The Orphans in this first game will be making appearances in the other games, so this game is set in its own universe and looks to be a ton of fun.
Don't take my ramblings for it though... Check out the Kickstarter and see all the awesome ideas, minis and stories for yourself!
Finally, just a glimpse of a couple of the miniatures in the game, followed by a glimpse of the artwork in the form of the Creepy Clown Kid we just unlocked (yes, he's eating a rat... which he is also doing in his miniature version).
