Gender-neutral third person Pronoun

New member
Don't have my reference handy but the correct gender neutral term when you are unsure or leaving it open is, indeed, he/him etc int he same way that mankind takes in all of humanity.

There used to be, in old English, seperate qualifiers to it for both gender, wyr and wyf if IIRC. However, correct English is to use he/him for both.

Women get their own pronoun for use in specific instances, if you use 'she' you are specifically excluding men while 'he' only refers to men alone if it is clear by the context.

If anyone needs a special word it's men, for a non-inclusive pronoun.

In more colloquial usage - and this will likely become standard English eventually - They/them is becoming more and more acceptable.
