Perhaps that was the style a few generations ago, and all the elderly are stuck without skin and with dancing lavalamp textures instead. It was a fad.
Is that better or worse than being stuck with a tattoo that looks like a folding puzzle now from age?;)

Re: Episode #75: A Mysterious New Warrior, Sailor Pluto Appears.

Are we already shipping Puu now ?

btw, I wanna say, that as Pluto and Charon are revolving around each other (and not one around the other), and the surrounding of them is notcleared, there are 2 objects: Nyx and Hydra (yeah, Pluto has now 2 small Moons, I will come back to that another time, yaknow...), in my book, Pluto is not a Dwarf Planet senshi, but the senshi of a Twin Dwarf Planet; but I leave that to the scientists in the 30th century. Yeah, I think we should speak about the Senshio of PlutoCharon[spoiler and we all know who and where the "Charon" in this relationship is located,[/spoiler].
So noone may dare bwelittle dear Pluto. He or she might regret it if Puu finds out herself...;)

SOMEONE RUNNING, GLOVE
It's Chibi-Usa! Running the dark, chased by a scary purple crystal. And then, who should block her path but—

Death: "Hello, Rabbit! I'm gonna chop you to smithereens!"
Chibi-Usa /angry and brave. "WHO ARE YOU?!"
Death: "You know the answer to that better than anyone else. Now, let's take you where your mother is… heh heh heh."
Chibi-Usa /falls into darkness, screaming. "MOMMYYYYYYYYYYY!!!"

Crystal Tokyo EXPLODES.
Classical Nightmare beginning so far...
DARK CLAN THRONE ROOM
Prince Dimande /has another little drinky. "Today the Evil Black Crystal is emitting energy as if it were hungry, like the wolf."
Esmeraude /thinks. "He is so dreamy. Every word he utters is like beautiful poetry."
Prince Dimande: "Straddling the line, in discord and rhyme, a howl and a whine—"
Saphir: "Damn it, brother, enough with trying to pass off old songwriters as your own work!"

Foosh!
The power of world revolution...
...is our Invincible Dark Crystal !
What, you thinkour little Sol system houses only one planetary WMD ? Look at the nature of its inhibitants and this will seem foolish to assume...
Saphir is a pretty-but-not-quite-as-pretty-as-him-boy with dark hair and a snappy blue uniform, covered in about a million campaign pins.
Yeah, Prince Saphir looks in any way like Crown Prince Diamonds little blue brother...
Prince Dimande: "…All these things have value in their own small way."
Esmeraude: "Fear not, Saphir! In place of Rubeus, I shall take command of the timeship—and I shall not fail like he did. WOOAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA—"
Saphir: "GAAHH! MY EARS!"
Prince Dimande: "Esmeraude! Volume."
Esmeraude /blushes. "…sorry…"
But nice to see she gets put in place here. oh this laughter...:p
Saphir /rolls eyes. "Oh boy."
Wiseman /intones sagely. "As long as the Silver Crystal has power, the Evil Black Crystal cannot win the hour. The former we must find and shatter, or nothing our crystal can do will matter.
I must say it:
"Oy, rhymes..."
Wiseman /intones sagely. "Beware the words of young men wearing blue—"
Saphir: "Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Wiseman! Your sad devotion to that ancient religion hasn't given you the power to conjure up the missing Crystal or the Rabbit, or clairvoyance enough to save Rubeus's sorry-but-well-toned butt. Our Evil Black Crystal is the supreme power in the Solar System and I say we use it! Repeatedly, and with deliberate intent!"
Noone ewxpects the Star Wars Quotation here !
Doktor Kreuzritter: "I'm sorry, but I can find no earthly cause for her illness. However, in a way, I am pleased this has happened, because there are a few unearthly methods I have been researching, which mainstream science has hitherto denied as too 'shocking' or 'unethical' to be put to use. If I might be permitted, I believe—"
Minako: "Thank you! We'll let you know." /puts the Doctor in an arm lock and escorts him out.
Huh ? Was that the cameo you wanted to work in ?
Dr. Kreuzritter (lol) as the medical equivalent for Detective "Not-appearing-in-this-episode" ?
May work as a concept...
Luna-P /inspects Chibi-Usa.
Luna-P /glows.
Luna-P /transforms into a holographic display unit.
Sailor Pluto, for it is she: (via hologram) "Greetings. I am no one suspicious."
Usagi: "You say something like that, and of course I immediately become suspicious."
Pluto (via hologram) /smiles.
Usagi: "…"

It's tricky to tell from the flickering, jittering holodisplay, but Sailor Pluto appears to have long, dark, flowing hair, a Sailor uniform that displays a little more cleavage than the others, and a two-meter silver key which she wields as a polearm.
That´s right.
Pluto: (via hologram) "I am Sailor Pluto, a magical warrior who in some continuums protects the gateway of Time and Space, being allied to the ultimate animating essence of existence's whole unbounded sweep—the last, utter sweep which has no confines and which outreaches fancy and mathematics alike."
:) She is even more awesome regarding her bloodline (or her character).

Pluto: (via hologram) "The Evil Black Crystal is invading her mind, and unless we act promptly, it will destroy her mind."
Usagi: "It's really called the 'Evil Black Crystal'?"
Pluto: (via hologram) "By its creators and its victims, yes."
Usagi: "Cute. Cute name. How do we save her?"
Pluto: (via hologram) "There is only one way: you will need to enter the lands of dream within her mind. It could be extremely dange—"
See ? I told you you can fit everything and the unicorn it rid on into that episode. It is a dream sequence after all.
Usagi: "I VOLUNTEER!"
Makoto: "You have my lightning!"
Rei: "¡And my fire!"
Ami: "And my— whatever!"
Makoto: "Awesome unbounded talent."
Ami: "…Thank you!"
Another Movie reference I see.
Usagi: "Later. So… this is Chibi-Usa's mind. …I expected something… well, different."
Rei: "Such an oppressive aura… and so lonely…"
Makoto: "These shattered silver pillars seem familiar. Are we back at the Moon?"
Usagi: "I don't think so." /points at the HUGE MOON looming over an immense metropolis of apartment blocks and crystal towers.
Ami: "Wait, if this is the Crystal Tokyo of the Future, the Moon should be farther from the Earth, not closer."
Makoto: "Maybe they moved it to improve the view."
Ami /!
Makoto: "…It could use the help, it looks like a warzone."
I totally assume they did. Maybe to make travel between them easier. And for the looks, too...
<< Rei : Cast > Dual-Tech : Minako > ChainGun : Fred Death >>
< Fred Death takes 0 damage! >
Minako: "OH SON OF A—"
Ami: "Why are they always immune these days?"
Death: "Heh heh heh."
Rei: "¡Sailor Moon!"
Usagi: "Yes, Mars?"
Rei: "Handle the girl, please."
Usagi: "Righto! Luck!"
Rei: "Luck. ¡Okay, ugly, bring it on!"
Death: "Oh boy! New playthings!"
Hm, I got another theory of this "Death" (despite it being from a nightmare).
We saw there are Droids that can enter dreams. And I found it uncanny like this death looks like a masked Wiseman. Maybe it was a special Droid, better and specifically adjusted to dream travel, and customized; also from a line that may only be reserved for high ranking Clan members (see that it had a Crystal that looked like a Black Crystal shard in it.). Maybe Wiseman likes his Droids looking this way ?
As said, only a theory.
Usagi receives a sudden vision—a glimpse, tinged with fear and anger—of the city under bombardment, and of a beautiful, familiar woman disappearing as the rubble flies.
Has been about time she gets a glimpse at that. Her relationship broke because of such, remember ?
Chibi-Usa: "Protect me?"
Usagi: "Yes! We're sailor warriors who fight for justice. See, in your future, your friend Puu gives you a magic key that lets you travel in time to the 20th century and disguise yourself as my cousin, and you become our friends—"
Chibi-Usa /pulls away. "If you're going to make up stories, don't make them stupid ones!"
Yeah, some stories just sound like they were written by some manga writer to fit into a longer arc somewhere...

Chibi-Usa stops before an immense structure of crystal spires, rising untouched towards the sky.[/i]

Usagi: "Whatever it is, it's beautiful."
Chibi-Usa: "My Mom is sleeping inside."
Usagi: "Right!" /marches forward.
Chibi-Usa: "Wait!" /throws a rock at the crystal palace—

A powerful force field disintegrates the rock!

Usagi /!
Chibi-Usa: "My Mom told me that the enemy can control the power of the Evil Black Crystal at will, and you can see it's blocking the way! NOW GO IN THERE AND HELP HER!"
Usagi /looks at the invisible force field with apprehension. "Eh-heh. Um."

Chibi-Usa: "You're scared, aren't you? Well, then don't say you're gonna be my friend!"
Chibiusa is again feeding her haters. Characterally justified, but it comes over as, well...dickish, sts.
Minako: "Ah, zo, zis iz all symbolik of her inner psychologikal frustrations, ja?"
Rei: "Well, let's go and break down the barrier, then, and—"
Death: "Excuse me."
Usagi: "Heh, whoops! Sorry. See, we're all concerned about the girl, plumb forgot you were there!"
Oooh, Freudian Austrian...
High-impact Mace vs. Scythe martial arts fight. Usagi gets flung about, Death keeps trying to get past her to attack Chibi-Usa, but she refuses to quit.
< Usagi parries! >
< Usagi parries, one-handed, without looking, without even breaking her concentration! >
Yeah, well...You remember that I say that SM gets always awesome when they finally pull out the Melee ? Yes, this. This.
Btw, the fact that this happens in the episode when we first see Pluto fully ? Not a coincident...
Usagi: "I'm as invincible as you want me to be."
Usagi /effortlessly lifts Chibi-Usa out of the crevice with one hand and tosses her up onto her shoulder, while she picks up Fred Death with the other hand and casually throws him a hundred feet into a stone wall.
Minako: "Which is apparently pretty damn invincible!"
With additional Pink Lighting.
Either way this is the Power of Love, Trust, and Dreams. Or Usagi really has this power (maybe as an update to the old "Crybaby Sonic Shock from Episode...1?!) and has not (yet) used it in the real world.
I bet on a bit of both...^.^
Pluto: (via hologram) "Thank you, Sailor Moon. Thank you, everyone."
Usagi: "Did that do the trick?"
Pluto (via hologram) /nods, firmly.
Chibi-Usa /yawns, stretches.
Yay ! Happy Ending ! (Spo yeah).
Pluto: (via hologram) "And the enemy is certain to appear again in this time, with another plot. Protecting this era is the same as protecting what you call the future, for all times may be interconnected. Sailor Warriors, please look after—"
Usagi: "Wa-wa-wa-wait! Who are you? What's the deal? What's going—?"
Pluto: (via hologram, over rising static) "—Small Lady, and do not let go of the Silver Crystal, no matter what!"
That may be used as an explanation of what is going on. Also, why the little key did not work (despite the lack of saying "Abrakadabra").

So, btw, of what "different Genre" did Saphir appear to you guys ?
He looked rather okay fitting in here, some sort of the "sole sane man" in this backstabby snake pit of a clan...

So, if you excuse me now, I am gone doing my "Pluto is here"- Happy dance (3rd stage)...:D

Probably just a one-off. I said I'd give Kreuzritter a cameo for his lightning fast "Kamen Scooter" HERO write-up, but I kept forgetting to do it.

I keep my promises! EDIT: *stab* Well, I try. *stab* Well, I'm all right.

Yes, indeed.

I notice they very carefully arranged to get her out of the dream sequence before she saw "Mom", though. :D

Yeah, some stories just sound like they were written by some manga writer to fit into a longer arc somewhere...
I was reminded of, but did not reference, the bit from the Robot Chicken Star Wars parodies.

Vader: "No—I am your father!"
Luke: "That's not true! That's impossible!"
Vader: "And Princess Leia is your sister!"
Luke: "That's not true! That's… improbable?"
Vader: "And the Empire will be defeated by Ewoks!"
Luke: "That's… very unlikely…"
Vader: "And as a child, I built C-3PO."
Luke: "Huh?"
*time passes*
Vader: "…and the Force? Well, that's just microscopic bacteria in your bloodstream called 'midichlorians.'"
Luke: "Look, if you're not gonna take this seriously, I'm out." /leaves.

I love that Usagi barely even looks at the guy. It's like, "Excuse me, girls talking here. Talk to the mace." And then she finishes the conversation. And then she nails the guy.

As I said, I couldn't put my finger on it, but just something in the combination of outfit, vocal presentation, and his general sanity and capacity for reasoned argument made him seem less like a sentai villain and more like a supporting character from a show like Legend of Galactic Heroes.

Not that that is a bad thing, in my opinion. :)

While Sailor Pluto is much loved for other reasons, amide this outpouring of joy at her appearance, I feel compelled to point out the obvious.

She is not a magical girl.

She is a magical grown-ass woman.

Hoo-rah.

Personally, I never thought a technicality would matter all that much to Pluto herself. Most magic relies on belief/will, and as long as Pluto is held in the minds of most people as an important celestial body, I imagine she won't mind all that much if the scientific community declares it a doughnut hole.
