They mostly struggle with the hair around the neck though, which sometimes varies in length from scene to scene, especially in Season 4 where she wears her hair a bit longer.Well, as the screencaps that Blazing Bat posted show, so did the actual animators. So don't feel too bad!
Brilliant!Ali: "Apparently, this is how Earthlings express their love. 'When on Trantor…' as they say…"
En: "DARLING! It's wonderful." /smoochy
Ali /is getting lucky tonight
En: "…what am I supposed to do with it?"
Ali: "…I honestly have no idea."
En: "…Am I supposed to… eat, it?"
Ali: "I don't think so. You wouldn't have it to keep, then." /realizes he never did ask Makoto about that part.
En: "But it'll rot."
Ali: "Not if we put it in stasis."
En: "Brilliant as always!"
No, really?Ami /realizes she's unleashed a monster.
Ah, yes I wondered why she wasn't using her own computer.Ami really should not be eating in the computer lab, but she has an arrangement with the lab T.A.
Ami /eats sandwiches with one hand and types with the other.
Ami /hacks into the student database, and adds the info on 'Seijuro Ginga' to her own
This episode is so great for facial expressions.Speaking of facial expressions, here's En, as 'Natsumi', watching from the doorway:
En is good at the angry thing.En: "Stop putting unknown objects inside your body!"
<< Rei : Cast > Fire2 : Usagi+Ami >>
< Usagi is freed! >
< Ami is freed! >
< …Usagi and Ami are also on fire! >
< Terrain extinguishes fire. >
You are being awfully kind here.Ali made, er, a meal, of some kind, for En. Out of food.
Mako's got a strong right, hasn't she?Ah yes, this is one of my favourite episodes of this arc. So many funny moments.
I thought this also deserved mentioning: *picture of shoe loss*
Well, I recognize many of the individual items, so I assumed they were intended to constitute some sort of food-like concoction…You are being awfully kind here.
I love this scene.Ms. Haruna: "You were late, you didn't have your homework, and you fell asleep in class. What have you got to say for yourself?"
Usagi: "I am made of fail."
Ms. Haruna: "I wouldn't go that far, dear. Go ahead and go to lunch."
I think they were too different for it to last. Ms. Haruna is clearly exploring other options, at the very least.Usagi: "Oh, you meant the couples? But I thought you were dating Na—"
Sometimes I wonder whether the writers are always giving Ami the short shrift on purpose...Ami: "Don't mind me! I'm only saving someone's life over here! I don't need a transformation sequence! It's okay! Really!"
The Monster of the week is voiced by Chiyoko Kawashima, whose main roles on the show are...• PICK A CARD! ANY CARD!
Utonberino! A black-and-white jongleur armed with baton, red fright wig, and arm cannon.
Yeah, I really liked the culture shock here. The Dark Kingdom folks didn't understand "love"—it was so long ago or they're now so corrupted that they can't really comprehend it any more. Faerie playing at emotion. Audrey's Children, on the other hand, do—I do think they love each other—but they're from an alien culture, and they seem to be the dysfunctional remnants of that culture. (Which makes them hardly a representative sample; did their culture view love as taking possession of another person, or is that just their twisted personal take on it?). When the only other person in your culture is one other person, I imagine it becomes hard to relate to others. I like that Ali seems genuinely curious about what Makoto is talking about—so curious that he forgets to suspiciously think, "Hey, what's her angle? And won't she think I'm strange for asking all these questions? And why am I listening to a pitiful hu-man again?"Anyway, there's no way I can't like an episode that plays so well on the Ali/Ens culture shock. Tons of hilarious slapstick, too.
Oh boy!Next episode : a meme is born.
