undeserved reputation for what? Porn?
An undeserved reputation for being a horrible deviant, mostly based on not-very-bright goblins having their minds in the gutter and interpreting something they saw that way. And spreading rumours about it.

How dare, you, Shadowjack, spoilering our poor Shadowjack with info he cannot even know yet...?!
:(
Spoiler: Show
that Mamoru holds the power of Earth... That will only come in the ending, in the VERY end...!

What should I say then now...?
Spoiler: Show
SJ DOES know he's the prince of Earth during the moon kingdom era

He knows he is a prince of the Earth, but not that he holds something like the Sailor Power of Earth, that only Galaxia tells Usa in the grand finale. Till then, Naru stays in the competition...;)

That´s what the ":p" was for...:D

I meant that Police Detective Not-Appearing-In-This-Film will, er, appear, as the spoiler. A spoiler for you guys. :)

I peeked at your spoiler, btw. Honestly, I'm not that surprised by that! I could have sworn there was a line last season in which Endymion was called outright "Prince of the Earth." Though that might've been meant as "Prince from the Earth." But still.

I know there will be Sailors for the other outer planets, so the only other alternative is ol' Sol, unless we get obsessive and start assigning Sailors of the Galileans, miscellaneous Trans-Neptunian Objects, and just about any other celestial body. ("I am Sailor 99942 Apophis! In the name of the Torino scale, there is a slight but measurable chance that I might punish you!")

It was indeed "Prince of the Earth." Though whether he legitimately held that title or just claimed it remains unknown at this point.

"Prince, eh? How did you become that, then?"

"The Lady Serenity, arm clad in purest gossamer, touched me upon my brow, indicating that I, Endymon, by divine mandate, was to be Prince of all Terrans."

"Who's that then?"

"The Terrans? We are all Terrans. And I am your prince!"

"I thought we just were an autonomous collective."

"You're fooling yourself. We're living in a dictatorship perpetuated by outdated hocus pocus. A strange woman from the moon fondling young boys is no basis for a system of government."

"What are you babbling about?"

"I mean, if I went around saying I was king because some lunar tart scratched me between the brows, they'd have me sectioned. Supreme executive must come from popular mandate-"

"Now, that's enough out of you!"

"Oh! Oh! Now we see the violence inherent in the system! Come see the violence inherent in the system! Come see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help! I'm being repressed!"

"Bloody peasant...."

"You hear that? You hear how he talks to me? That's what I'm always on about--"

"Prince of the Earth? I didn't vote for—"

*stops, shakes fist at Cruton*

I'd say it's definitely one of those cases where one can legitimately hold the title—and the title is all you have. Kind of like being King of Italy after the Republic.

I had honestly forgotten they hadn't mentioned it :)

That would be nice :)

Ooh, what if all citizens of the Moon Kingdom were like that, but what made a prince or princess was being tied to one of the major ones? So one of the royal guards in the background might've been 99942 Apophis.

Hm, I wonder if perhaps the Dark Generals were tied to some of the large free orbiting planetoids...

Maybe…

Though from some of the names in what of the Sailor V manga I've seen, it seems that both there and in this series, the Dark folks had this whole "minerals" theme going on. Beryl, jadeite, nephrite, zoisite, kunzite, fluorite…

Which is very earth-y, come to think of it.

My personal theory? As a small child, Naoko Takeuchi spent several horrible hours buried until a collapsed display of rock collections at a museum gift shop.
