They may be on the public network or a personal network (gates can only connect to other gates on the same network). They may have an optional IDC (password).

Common Commands:
/wxlist - List the names of stargates on the public network.
/wxcomplete NAME [idc=IDC] [net=NET] - This finishes setting up a Stargate you've built, specifying its name, and optionally the network and idc code.
/wxremove - Remove a gate's settings. Sometimes necessary if you screw it up.
/dial GATE [IDC]- Once you activate a gate's dialing sequence with the lever on its DHD, use this command to choose the destination named GATE. If an idc is required for the destination gate, specify it after the name.

Burning Man...

The RL Burning Man festival is a pagan ritual, art showcase (which includes "mutant vehicles"), and performance center in the Nevada desert in the week leading up to Labor Day (Otherplacians: first Monday in September) that culminates in burning a 12-meter tall effigy Saturday night.

The Elysium version would be the same thing, sort of... mainly an art showcase, including "mutant vehicles" (that might just move if the Movecraft plugin is working properly), and a gathering culminating in a mod changing the wood planks of the stick figure I set up to lava.

Everyone has an open invitation to build artwork at the site (accessible through the wormhole network--destination "Playa". There's a small shelter with basic amenities to the right of the gate.)
