Need a system to run Orpheus & Eurydice + The Fast & The Furious

In the meanwhile, here is some more flavor that I've come up with for the setting:

For thousands of years, the severed head of Orpheus has remained; unsleeping and unblinking; uttering prophecies, dispensing it’s extensive knowledge of mythology and mystery-rites and also announcing the day when the Gates of the Underworld would reopen (approximately once every 10 years). The head currently sits in Washington, DC, in the Smithsonian Museum of History.

As the racers get close to the Gates of Hades, they are forced to contend with Penthos (Grief), Algea (Agony), Limos (Hunger), Eris (Discord), Curae (Anxiety), Phobos (Fear), Aporia (Need), Hypnos (Exhaustion), Gaudia (Guilt) and Thanatos (Death). If they overcome these psychic trials, they are able to enter the gates. Those who fail the trial often die in their cars, with their spirits suddenly jerking forward, past the Gates, entering the Underworld as one of the unliving.

At the edge of the River Styx, the racers must stop to pay homage to Charon, and pay the ferryman. He then races his bone-white Dodge Charger across the river, it’s smoke leaving a temporary bridge behind him, which the racers must follow.

The Furies: Alecto, Megaera and Tisiphone are a trio of women who avenge crimes against the natural order, and are goddesses of revenge. They share a crimson Ford pick-up truck with black, feathered wings painted on the side. They telepathically offer each racer their services in destroying their rivals, but instead attack any who actually agree to their offer.

First vehicle back gets to live and keep their loved one? Hmm, steal the Furies pick-up and pile everyone on board.

That is a possibility. Except that there is no way that pickup can out-race Hades. Someone (or someones) will have to use their cars to keep Hades from getting there first and closing the gate.
