Exploding dice are an easy part - it's the roll and keep portion where it starts getting gross. That said unless you've got some serious computing power you'd basically have to go analytical over a monte carlo. Loop nesting (or recursion to achieve something similar) gets out of hand quickly, and in my experience with home computers going past 6 dice gets unmanageable (though part of this is that I'm too cheap to just buy actual Matlab).
