Recruitment - Need new players!: Invitus Igni Rogue Trader

Hey there, I'm currently running the Invictus Igni Rogue Trader game and unfortunately, we've just lost one of our players. Would anyone be interested in joining the motley crew of the Falco Milleniorum?

I'm looking for two more recruits. Start at level one, using all Rogue Trader books, nothing else. Xenos not preferred, but if you really want to play one, feel free to discuss it here. Our absent player's Voidmistress is still in the game as a puppet NPC at the moment, but if someone wants that role I'll find a way to phase her out of the game. Feel free to head over to the OOC and IC to check out the game. Links are in my sig. Also a wiki.

Here's the list of our current PCs:

Giovanni Arcadion Metis da Solo - A greenhorn Rogue Trader fresh from the trenches of Imperial Guard warfare, full of life, gusto, and gentlemanly conduct.

Vertix - A Huntress-style Arch-Militant, Vertix lives for two things: a challenging hunt and the finest clothes money can buy. After all, "one never knows when one will meet the Emperor" and she wishes to look her very best when she does!

Michtech Gamma-Two - A surly but efficient Magos of the Mechanicus, Michtech is at the heart of the Falco's plethora of arcane machinery. The ship's archeotech Teleportarium and Modified Lathe-pattern Drive are his special haunts.

Andrew Langsbury - The faithful Seneschal of the Rogue Trader, Langsbury is a gentleman's gentleman and a peerless spy. His knowledge of many things forbidden to mankind is a special boon to his adventure-seeking master.

The game's been great fun so far! We've been contracted to run down a pirate in an impossibly fast, stealthy ship. We set a trap for them in a debris-field, and when we sprung it they ran for their lives, inflicting more damage on themselves by flying into debris than we did with our guns. We've now currently run them to ground and are about to initiate aggressive diplomacy with the pirate captain.

Our ship, the Falco Millenniorum, is also notable for being a retrofitted Star-Clipper (a luxury yacht/premium cargo-runner), instead of being a warship. She's got some archaeotech and xenotech components, and my favourite feature is the Arboretum, the Millennial Gardens, which covers her every surface in painstakingly-cultivated greenery.

I would love to play... problem is I don't have access to the book. If it helps I have tonnes of experience with Dark Heresy (Am currently running two pbp's on this site.) Also if it saves effort and the character hasn't been written out of the story I would be happy to pick up the character that no longer has a player and just play as them.

However if not having the book is too much of a problem then I totally understand. Thank you for the consideration.

That'd be just fine. RT is honestly not much different from DH. Gameplay is similar, if not identical, and I can fill you in on any nuances of char gen, since most of RT's characters can be crossed over from DH. I'm even willing to allow an exception for you and allow you to build a DH character and port it to RT. We really, REALLY need a psyker-type character at the moment, since our only PC with any affinity for the Warp was our Prescient Voidmistress, who was abandoned by her Player.

Speaking of the Voidmistress, it's fine if you want to play her and save yourself the hassle of porting a DH char to RT, or creating an RT character using the paths I can give you. The only big issue with her is she's pretty much the expert pilot on the crew, meaning she is usually at the helm of whatever you guys are flying/driving around in. So you'll do a lot of ship-flying when we're in the Void, often controlling it through maneuvers and even shooting actions, as well as piloting smaller craft, something I don't think DH covers in great detail.

Again, most of this stuff is easily portable from DH, aside from the ship-to-ship combat, and I can fill you in on anything you're missing via infodumps in sblocks, PMs, or wikidumps. The biggest issues are going to be the gear/weapons/tools/armor/etc, the currency, and the ship. I'll give you the armory list later on, once I can compare DH and RT to see what's missing.

You still interested?

Yay! That makes two! And a Priest would be most welcome. :)

I would love to play and reprise an old Voidmistress of mine. She's a former Imperial Navy Augury Specialist who lives on the edge, knowing she is only two steps away from being returned to active duty. :)

Cool! I'm not sure if we can fit seven players, so hang tight. I'll let you know if we've got extra room.

Looking good! The crew shall be most pleased to have an emissary of the Emperor aboard. It looks like the adventure ahead will be most perilous indeed!
