My wife says the woman speaking in the teaser sounds a lot like Burnham, although it is probably coincidental.

I liked the TNG Mirror Universe novel, where not only was Mirror Troy the ship's interrogation specialist, so was Regular Troy. Obviously the latter used much milder methods, but it's the natural job for an empath.
Ah the old 'good psychic, bad psychic' routine.

Burnham's performance was a human trying to be Vulcan trying to be human. Along with everything else we know about the setting outside the trailer*, makes me think she's Romulan.

*they have to be talking about the Romulus evacuation, right?

Well, it could be something different and new, of course, but the biggest known catastrophe forcing an evacuation in A-canon Star Trek history post-TNG/DS9/VOY was the destruction of Romulus. Add to that the fact that Picard was personally interested in ambassador Spocks reunification dealings on Romulus before, it's most likely confirmed that it's about this.

I should not be as excited about this as I am, but I find that I have absolutely no chill.

Also, I need to get a dog, just so that I can have it wear that collar.

...Picard with a dog. Of all the things I had considered, I did not consider that.

I’m not even a dog person and I can’t waot to see this.

The best thing is that is 100% something Sir Patrick pushed for. He's a dog lover, and especially fond of pitties IIRC. Much better that than "And I get to ride a dune buggy", IMO.
