OOC: I thought we weren't giving that +2 tail bonus until after the first round?
OOC: The Tail bonus starts at +2 and, by the RAW, increases by 1 every round the tail is unbroken (+3 the second round, +4 the third, and so on).

For purposes of our game, the houserule is that the round-over-round increase to the Tail bonus is delayed for a round, to account for the asynchronicity of posting.

OOC: Easy enough, I remembered that we house-ruled something about Tailing but couldn't find it anywhere.

Righteous is back in his element. He almost feels more comfortable with the DRADIS out of commission: no distractions, all the tactical elements laid out within his field of view like pieces on a board. A brief, seductive sense of omnipotence washes over him before he engages.

He gives the corvette one regretful glance. The Lightning in his belly is aching to be let fly at that big pig, but it's going to have to wait. First he needs to thin out the escort and get his teammates out of trouble. Geezer and his tail are too far back for him to help directly, but he can try to even the odds.

He takes a pass at Raider 3:

OOC: Gunnery roll - Frak that frakker: 4dF+4: 4 [4dF=0, 0, 0, 0]
Do we automatically add +1 to that roll because of the Viper's Weapon: 1?

As he shoots past Raider 3 he keeps on firing, spraying a hail of 30mm shells as he arcs back towards his target.

OOC: Create advantage with Gunnery: Frak the flak. 4dF+4: 5 [4dF=0, +1, +1, -1]

"Geezer!" he yells over the comlink. "Draw him into my flak! That'll give you an edge."

OOC: Plenty of aspects stacked up for anybody going for Raider X.

OOC: so, My plan here, from the point of suggesting that the people not taking lightning take cyclones, was that everyone carrying a Lightning drops to initiative 0 with Gorgon, and then those of us who brought the cyclones can hopefully use them to tear into the mass of cylons tailing us at Initative 1. Gorgon doesn't exactly have the option of going higher, so there's that.
...but is anyone who actually took a cyclone in position to take advantage of that now? Geezer already dropped... Did nobody like my plan and just not bothered to tell me? I thought I laid it out fairly directly in post 265 :/

Gorgon thrusts out ahead of the flight, knowingly putting herself in an exposed position. This is going to work. Or I'm going to be dead. She arms her Lightning prematurely, bringing the warhead's payload into a just barely subcritical configuration, making sure the Toasters' radioisotope detectors have no chance of failing to ping a warning at them. "Remember what we're here for everyone, and remember what we're all protecting. Stick to the plan and wait until we're up close and personal, and we'll wipe this smudge out and we can all go home." Right now she's got her transmitter set to a code that Colonial intelligence is pretty sure the Toasters have cracked. She wants them to think the plan is just for the whole flight to charge through the defenses and unload at point-blank, so that they think they'll have plenty of time to intercept. And hopefully not pay attention to the vipers that set up behind them.

And hopefully, that unencoded transmission is a juicy enough lure to get them all listening. She knows that trying to throw a virus at the cylons is like spitting into the wind, but she throws a bunch a very suspicious-looking code injections out over the channel, all actually harmless once analyzed, but at least they'll have to waste a few million processing cycles on personal hygiene rather than trying to screw with their attackers.

OOC: Trying to use So Say We All to... I think Create and Advantage representing hoodwinking the Cylons into gathering up for the Cyclones to smack, though maybe it's an Overcome to draw them into changing their current plans to do that. In which case the +2 wouldn't apply. So rolling Rapport on its own.

rapport: 4dF+3 2 If it's a CAA that's 4, which is fine, but if I'm trying to Overcome that's 2 and probably opposed by some Toaster's discipline so that's not fine. But I'm not sure this'll be workable now anyway, so not going to spend.

If CAA, making the 'hoodwinked toasters'.

Um, for phase 2 action, I'm going to try and use Technology to CAA to try and inoculate us a bit against the toasters' hacking.
technology: 4dF+4 4

Making aspect 'distracting data feint'.

Trick [Stress 0, FP 3/3]

OOC: I was a little fuzzy on the specifics of the plan you laid out until today's ooc with Iustum cleared it up for me. I'm totally crash test dummy enough to go with it. If we lose this gamble, however . . . no big boom :(

Trick listens to Gorgon over the wire then snaps off a hastily aimed and ultimately ineffective shot at raider 2 before pulling a ridiculous corkscrew and spiral diving his viper right between raiders 2 & 3 to grab their attention as he follows her down.

OOC: snap shot/create advantage pilot: 4dF+2 1 4dF+4 4 Not going to add anything to the snap shot, attention grabbing is just as good as a hit. Create advantage Follow the Weasel. Drop me down to 0 with Gorgon.

Rush shakes her head.
"Out of position Geez, can't help you - but I'll do my best to trim down the rest."

She fires her cannons in a spiral pattern, trying to force Raider 2 into a specific location, whereupon, her cannons can shred him.

OOC: Raider two is target. CAA: Spiral Trap. Then, since I can't attack in Step 2, I'll do another CAA: The Trap Closes.
CAA 1: 4 Create an Advantage x2: 2#4dF+4 4 7
CAA 2: 7

OOC: I'm down with Gorgon's plan, but just to clarify: do we need only one Maneuver Phase action to get us into Special and target the corvette with the Lightning, or do we have to do one or several Tactical Refocus actions?

OOC: To be clear: you don't need to be in Special to attack the corvette, either at Long Range or Close Range. You can, during the Maneuver phase, drop to anywhere below yourself on the chart that you'd like to be.

The heretofore unseen Raider stitches a line of shell holes up the side of Geezer's Raptor, causing his CO2 filters to short out and his computer readouts to start blinking. Geezer zips through the melee to form up with some of his fellows in an effort to sucker the Raptors into a trap.

The Technology Corvette's cannons spit fire into the furball, peppering Trick's Raptor with shrapnel to no real effect and almost giving Bank a haircut.

Speaking of which, the young wealthy pilot dodges a shot from one Raider and then puts some shells into one of its fellows. Trick follows up with an unlikely shot of his own, adding further damage.

Another Raider locks on to Lachesis's flight leader, drawing a line of cannon fire in the black but not making contact.

Most of Lachesis flight concentrates developing the situation to better capitalize on their main advantage over the toasters: teamwork.

OOC: I'm not going to do enemy intentions, because some or all of you may want to drop on the Maneuver Chart and that will take place before their actions in the maneuver phase.
