I usually use a brown shade for the dip, but I'm about to do some black'n'white movie inspired painting and was wondering about the possibility of using the Black or the Espresso.

Anyone with experience with those colors?

I would go with black to keep to the theme, but it may be a little harsh. Maybe try a mix of Future Floor wax and Paynes Grey?

That's a possibility I hadn't thought of. Hmm.

I try to stick with the wood stain, just because I've never gotten the floor polish to work right :(

The mix I've seen most often is 50/50 Future+water, then mix that with 50/50 with your paint (or ink). You want it watery and think. Then add a drop of dish soap. And of course a test figure to try it on first. :)

On the upside, this is going to be for relatively inexpensive plastic soldier type figures, not proper gaming minis, so I guess I can take a bit of risk and try a couple different things.

I will try to show some shots of what I eventually try.
