[USA] Upcoming Conventions and Events

The Bodhana Group, an Ephrata, PA non-profit organization is proud to present Save Against Fear 2015, our very special and much awaited 5th Anniversary! This is the fifth year of our annual role playing game convention fund rasier. It is a weekend of role playing fun, containing games spanning multiple genres and systems. Proceeds from Save Against Fear 2015 will benefit The Bodhana Group. The Bodhana Group believes in reducing the impact of sexual abuse through treatment, training, and community education. One of our other missions is our belief in the use of Tabletop Gaming for therapeutic benefit. Come and join us the weekenfd of September 4th-6th, 2015, The Best Western Premier Central Hotel & Conference Center 800 East Park Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17111. They have rooms blocked for the event. All you need to do is call to book your room at (717) 561-2800.

That's right, in one of the many ways that we are celebrating our 5th Anniversary, and continuing to improve your event experience, we have moved SAFe to a hotel. This is one way to provide more space and easier accomodations for you to stay longer, game harder, and enjoy more of the whole weekend.

This year contains all of the same traditions, plus some new surprises. We will have multiple prizes from industry supporters, local businesses and independent crafters. We will also have our achievement system, our random free Treasure Table as well as our traditional bake sale table.

We are also adding special events such as Panel Discussions and Workshops for GMs as well as Players. These will be listed as special sessions as session info becomes available. Sessions will be added each Monday after pre-registration opens March 1st!.

For more details on special events, convention supporters visit Save Against Fear!

Our continuing convention theme is WWYCD - What Would Your Character Do? This theme describes how when we create a character to play, its as if we are creating a practice version of ourselves, who can help us explore parts of our identity and aspects of our world. It can even let you explore qualities of personality you might want to adopt as you choose who you are. Playing a character can teach us what we value, what we choose to fight for, what we love, and how we might solve problems differently than normal. In a moment of judgement, we can ask ourselves for another option of thinking situations through. We can even practice these solutions in the safety of the game world to gain perspective and insight.

Members of the Pathfinder Society will be in attendance to fulfill all of your adventuring needs.

The cast of the Grown as Gamers Podcast will again be in full force, running sessions, interviewing people about their experiences and doing what they do best - being them! Sessions run by the GAGCast will be labelled as they are added. Meet the cast and see what all the hulla-baloo is about!

Interested in attending? Get in on the Early Bird Special - $40 pre-reg - a $20 savings on the at the door price of $60! Only valid until May 30, 2015. Start Your Adventure

I may be interested. How many people attended your convention? What are you busiest time slots? Do you have listings of events from previous years? Has anyone GM'ed a Serenity game, if so was it well attended? And finally, what is the cost to the GM, so I can plan accordingly should I get the chance.

It may be a little late notice for people to make plans, but if you're in Southeast Texas, Owlcon is coming up in the third weekend of February.

Re: POLYCON - Central California

You guys have probably already mentioned it, but in Gurnee, IL, April 1-3, there will be a convention for charity called Gaming Hoopla. They pair with the Vince Lombardi foundation to raise money for cancer research. There are a few D&D events with slots open left, if anyone is interested, plus a lot of Pathfinder.
