Warframe Discussion Thread #6: You Can't Spell 'Very Bad Call' Without Alad V

Right :)

Hm. I started the game again as "all Ash all the time", and aside from now really liking Titania and Mesa, as I'm levelling Loki Prime I can see he is faster than Ash Prime so would be even better for speeding through spy missions by stealth. And of course there are Switch Teleport tricks.

Loki's invisibility has a 50% higher base duration than Ash's, too. Easier/more convenient to stay invisible throughout the whole mission.

If you're doing spy missions, you're probably going to find yourself getting the real stealth specialist* in Ivara. Ivara has a channeled invisibility power, along with cloaking arrows. She also gets an augment that allows you to pass through laser beams or barrier doors without setting off alarms, which means you can stand in the middle of spy vaults and not trigger any countdowns. She's also got some fairly lethal combat power thanks to her exalted bow. She can even get around in vaults or the like easily thanks to Dashwire Arrows, which let you get to places even Switch Teleport and Decoy can't.

*At some point. I'm still missing a part, four years after her release...

I find most people don't actually use Ivara for spy missions.

If you buy her, she's really great at them, with a decent mod layout she has constant stealth and can walk through lasers, but because you have to do spy missions to get her, by the time you get her you're generally good enough at spy missions that the important question is "can I do this spy room" (experienced players can do spy rooms with any frame they want) but "what's the frame that lets me do these spy rooms the quickest", and for that the old answer is definitely Loki, because he has easy fast stealth, fast movement speed and can teleport past lasers.

Wisp and Limbo are also really good at quickly doing spy rooms, especially Corpus and Lua spy rooms, because their major issue is they don't have great tools to deal with the Grineer camera drones, and the Kuva Fortress Cameras. I think the new Wukong is in a similar place.

That assumes that skill never decays. Mine certainly does. So now I have a crutch to easy mode missions now that I'm not running them regularly and thus keeping retaining some degree of proficiency.

I might as well reinstall these 12.000 megabytes of PC patches and see if any if it remains playable. Maybe there's still some graphics settings I could disable...
Okay. After 300 hours playtime, and most of this week stuck trying fruitlessly to install the update files to the current version, I decided to instead bid farewell to the game because life is too short to spend struggling with tech issues for a game that at the best of times, ran at 20fps for me.

I mean. When spies first launched, I did them all with Zephyr for a long time, but after I got Ivara (admittedly, I bought her when she was released because she was very much in my wheelhouse) she became my main for spy missions. But I also semi-regularly bring her for main combat stuff (like sortie survivals) because Concentrated Arrow is dope.

Ivara's kit is what lets me do things like level a weapon from 0 to 30 in a single solo spy mission. Trying to slowly, patiently stalk my way through several hundred grineer, waiting for the perfect moment to murder each of them so their buddies wouldn't notice would be WAY more hassle than it was worth with Loki.

Ouch. Well, as you say, life is too short.

The Ivara paradox is you have to do Spy mission to get her to spy missions.
