💀 Necro Wow: a GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Boxset!

This is an older thread. Posters you reply to might not see your posts, and you'll probably get more replies if you start a new one. But that's not a rule or even a frowny face, so go ahead and post as thou wilt!

I remember asking - or at least reading - about this at some earlier point, but I don't remember the answer... what sort of support exists (or is planned) for hex crawling, mass battles, and dominion management stuff?

There is a supplement for "Wilderness Adventures" in the Dungeon Fantasy line, but it deals more with the challenges of wilderness hazards and navigation than "hex crawling" as such. You might find my notes on hex crawling in GURPS useful, though.

Mass Combat and Domain Management are outside the overall scope of Dungeon Fantasy, although the former is covered adequately by GURPS Mass Combat (as AndersGabrielsson pointed out). The GURPS supplements "Boardroom and Curia" and "City Stats" might help with the Domain Management aspects.

In D&D terms, the box covers the same types of activity as Basic, but at a much higher default power level. Plenty of support for exploring dungeons! There's some mention of travel, and very basic social skill rules, but if you want more extensive coverage for these topics the supplements mentioned by Jürgen above are good places to look.

Can anyone tell me about the sample "solo" character Redhair from last month's Pyramid?
Stats, skills, focus, what type or archtyoe was it? Worth grabbing for an extra pre-gen?

Redhair's a Swashbuckler, with the bulk of the points spent on DX, HT, Ridiculous Luck, and being very good with the rapier. There are lots of other do-dads that round out the character, but the stuff I listed accounts for about 4/5 of the character's points.

I think the issue (3/104) is worth buying for the solo adventure alone, but that's probably just me. :)

Thanks Joe. Recommendation noted. :)

Apologies if this has already been answered, but I hope you'll forgive me not wading throught the 68 preceding pages.

Do we know if DFRPG will be available to buy as a physical product in the UK, and any idea when that might be?

We will offer the game to _all_ of our distribution partners. We cannot force any distributor -- or retailer -- to carry the game, and one issue we have run into with GURPS is that our European distributors are not bringing much in for sale. All we can do is continue to market and push as all of you who want the game pull.

Go to your favorite local game store and ask to pre-order the game. We will be over here pushing out to the distributor and retailer side.

Where is the generic "Fighter/Warrior"?
We've got the Knight, Barbarian, and Swashbuckler. But what about a standard Sword and Board or Sword and Dagger Fighter type?
Or because it's GUPRS, we just make one?
